MAYOR’S PROCLAMATION

2025 CITY OF ORLANDO GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION

FOR DISTRICT 1, 3, AND 5 CITY COMMISSIONER

WHEREAS, under the Laws of the State of Florida, the Charter and the Code of the City of Orlando, Florida, it is provided that a General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with a Run-Off Election on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 (if necessary) to elect one (1) District Commissioner from each of the folllowing: Districts 1, 3 and 5.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution dated May 19, 2025, the City Council set the Qualifying Period for the November 2025 Municipal Election to begin noon on Friday, September 5, 2025, through noon on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The Pre-Qualifying Period will begin noon on Friday, August 22, 2025, through noon on Thursday, September 4, 2025, except for Monday, September 1, 2025.

WHEREAS, the City Council Resolution dated May 19, 2025, announced that for any candidate seeking to have the qualifying fee waived pursuant to Section 21.07-1 of the Orlando City Code, signed petitions gathered pursuant to City Code must be submitted to the City Clerk before noon on Friday, August 8, 2025, for the office sought along with payment to the City of Orlando for verification of signatures, in addition to satisfying other qualification requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Buddy Dyer, Mayor of the City of Orlando, hereby do proclaim on this date that the 2025 General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with a Run-Off Election on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 (if necessary) and that this proclamation shall be published in a newspaper in the City twice prior to said General Municipal Election.

ELECCIONES MUNICIPALES GENERAL CIUDAD DE ORLANDO 2025

COMISIONADOS PARA DISTRITOS 1, 3 Y 5

CONSIDERANDO QUE, conforme a las Leyes del Estado de Florida, los Estatutos y el Código Municipal de Orlando, Florida, se provee que una Elección Municipal General se realizará el martes 4 de noviembre de 2025, con una elección de segunda vuelta el martes 9 de diciembre de 2025 (si fuera necesario), para tres (3) comisionados para los distritos 1, 3 y 5.

CONSIDERANDO QUE, conforme con la Resolución con fecha 19 de mayo de 2023, el Concejo Municipal establecerá un periodo de calificación para las Elecciones Municipales Generales de noviembre de 2025 que se iniciará al mediodía del viernes 5 de septiembre de 2025 hasta el mediodía del jueves 11 de septiembre de 2025. El periodo de precalificación comenzará al mediodía del Viernes 22 de Agosto de 2025 hasta mediodía del jueves 4 de septiembre de 2025, excepto el lunes 1 de septiembre de 2025.

CONSIDERANDO QUE, la Resolución del Concejo Municipal del 19 de mayo de 2025 anunció que cada candidato que busca la exención de la tarifa de calificación conforme a la Sección 21.07-1 del Código Municipal de Orlando debe enviar la petición firmada a la Secretaría Municipal antes del mediodía del viernes 8 de agosto de 2025 por el puesto solicitado, junto con el pago al Municipio de Orlando para la verificación de firmas, además de cumplir otros requisitos de calificación.

POR LO TANTO, Yo, Buddy Dyer, alcalde del Municipio de Orlando, proclamo en esta fecha que la Elección Municipal General 2025 se llevará a cabo el martes 4 de noviembre de 2025, con una segunda vuelta el martes 9 de diciembre de 2025 (si fuera necesario) y que esta proclamación debe ser publicada en un diario de la ciudad dos veces durante los cuatro meses previos a dicha Elección Municipal General.

After December 31, 2022, all vote-by-mail requests expired. If you would like to receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the upcoming Municipal Elections or any other elections through the 2024 election cycle, you will have to submit a new vote-by-mail request through the Orange County Supervisor of Elections.

Pursuant to Florida Statutes 101.6104 and Florida Statutes 101.68(2)(c)4, if any elector or candidate present believes that a vote by mail ballot is illegal due to a defect apparent on the voter’s certificate, he or she may, at any time before the ballot is removed from the envelope, file with the canvassing board a protest against the canvass of that ballot, specifying the precinct, the ballot, and the reason he or she believes the ballot to be illegal. A challenge based upon a defect in the voter’s certificate may not be accepted after the ballot has been removed from the mailing envelope.
