Keeping Orlando moving continues to be a priority for the City of Orlando. By providing multimodal forms of transportation, we are able to offer everyone who lives, works and plays in Orlando more choices for getting around the city.

This study analyzed safety and connectivity for people walking and biking in the Southwest Orlando area. Southwest Orlando has a strong economic base containing Universal Studios and the International Drive Tourist District, which relies heavily on service and entertainment industry workers. This area also includes Valencia College’s West Campus and industrial parks that all utilize different aspects of the city’s transportation network.

The goal of the Southwest Orlando Bike and Pedestrian study was to lay the groundwork for creating safer, better-connected transportation infrastructure for bicyclists and pedestrians in southwest Orlando.
