Dr. Phillips Charities' Packing District is a private development and is expected to take a couple decades to complete.

Building on our commitment to invest in our neighborhoods, the City of Orlando is leveraging the development of the Packing District to enhance the quality of life for our residents with additional recreational options, green space and infrastructure updates in the area centered at Princeton Street and Orange Blossom Trail.

A planned new city park will span across 66 acres and will be dedicated to housing new amenities, including:

  • a new tennis center
  • bike and walking trails
  • public park space
  • preserved wetlands

Other infrastructure investments include new roadways, parking and other public works upgrades which will allow for smart growth and public safety.

We anticipate the impact on residents and businesses in the area will be minimal, in regards to public works and transportation improvements. Currently, earth work operations are in progress in preparation for future development.

Constituents near the project area may notice crews and equipment working in the project area. There is a possibility of an increase in noise during project hours.

Project Hours

  • 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday through Friday

Unforeseen circumstance and adverse weather can create delays that increase the project's duration, and/or create weekend and overnight work.

As part of this project, Public Works is working in conjunction with the city's Transportation Department to facilitate complete streets improvements on Princeton Street and Orange Blossom Trail
