Apply for a Historic Preservation Property Tax Exemption

Do you want to get a tax break when you renovate your historic property?

The City of Orlando provides a 10-year exemption for qualifying property owners who renovate historic landmarks or property in historic districts. The amount of the exemption is determined by the Orange County Property Appraiser based on the usual appraisal of property following rehabilitation or renovation. Not all renovation projects qualify for the tax exemption program. Make sure to schedule a meeting with the Historic Preservation Officer to determine your eligibility prior to applying for HPB approval or securing building permits.
