Request to Show Your Art in a City Gallery

Do you want to exhibit your art in one of our city galleries?

The city offers three gallery spaces to present work by regional artists:

  • TERRACE Gallery (City Hall on the first floor).
  • Mayor's Gallery (City Hall on the third floor).
  • The Garden Gallery (main building in Harry P. Leu Botanical Gardens).

Step 1.Check your eligibility

We are looking for artists who:

  • Live in Central Florida.
  • Have a professional portfolio of available work and/or proposal for new work.
  • Are able to transport original wall-ready art to and from location at specified times.
  • Have a biography, resume and artist statement.

Step 3.Gather your materials

To be considered, you will need to submit a checklist of your work that includes labeled photos with each with a thumbnail image, title, year, media and dimensions (height by width in inches).

Example: Jane A. Doe, Waiting for a Bus, 2018, acrylic on canvas.

An insured value amount should be included per piece of artwork for the City of Orlando's insurance coverage while in the care of the city.

All labels, wall text, vinyls for title of exhibit will be supplied, paid for and formatted by Public Art. If there is an exception, we will let you know.

Step 4.Submit your application to be considered

The best way to send us your portfolio is through a link to your website or through a file-sharing website. Below is the application form to provide us with this.

All exhibitions are curated and planned two years in advance. We will contact you if you are selected.

Step 5.Send us photos for promotional materials

If selected, you will be asked to send us three high-resolution photos of your work to use for the exhibit's promotional materials.

Step 6.Drop off your work before the opening date

Prior to the exhibit opening date, the Public Arts Coordinator will send you an email with a specified date and time you will be required to deliver your original work to the gallery.

Step 7.Show your art at the exhibit

Step 8.Pick up your work after the exhibit is over

After the exhibit is over, the Public Arts Coordinator will give you a specified date and time you will be required to pick up your work.
