Bike to Work Day Team Competition
March is Florida Bicycle Month and a great time to highlight biking to work for not just one day, but every day! This year’s Bike to Work Day event offers participants the opportunity to join the group bike ride as part of a team with their employer or affiliate organization. Teams will complete Florida Bicycle Month activities to gain points and compete with other teams to win the 1st place prize: the Bike to Work Day Trophy of Champions!

Event Sign-Up Instructions for Teams
When registering for the event participants who plan to join the group bike ride as part of a team must select the “Workplace Team” option when completing the registration form instead of the “Solo Rider” option. Each team must have a team captain. The team captain must check the “Yes” option under the “Are you a team captain” question on the registration form.

Team Competition Scorecard
The team competition is a favorite longstanding tradition for Bike to Work Day, and will be composed of two parts:

• Florida Bicycle Month activities – Outlined in the Team Competition Scorecard (60 points)
• Bike to Work Day Group Ride with Mayor Buddy Dyer – Friday, March 28 (40 points)

Please find this year’s scorecard below with instructions on how to gain points for your team. Make sure your team captain submits your Florida Bicycle Month Activities documentation to daphne.green@orlando.gov no later than March 25 to receive credit. Please reach out with any questions.

Is there a fee to register for the event?
No, this event is free and open to the public with no registration fee.

 Is there a fee for using an e-bike provided by the city’s bike share program to participate in the group ride? How can I request to use one? Where do I retrieve and then return the e-bike? When is the deadline to request an e-bike?
At the event Bird and Lime bicycles as well as Veo seated scooters will be provided at no charge for attendees when they register online for the event. Registration for the event will end on Thursday, March 27. At the event, bicycles and seated scooters will be stationed at the northwest corner of the park near the intersection of Amelia Street and Terry Avenue. Bicycles and seated scooters will be returned to the staging areas provided at City Hall along Orange Avenue.

Is there a way I can borrow a helmet?
We will be providing helmet fittings and free helmets at the event on a first come, first served basis. Lime and Bird will also provide helmets as giveaways on a first come, first served basis

Is there a bike leader who will return from City Hall to Luminary Green? If so what is the meeting time and location?
Yes, we will have two guided group bike rides from City Hall to the Luminary Green Park. Meeting times for the rides are 9:40 a.m. and 10 a.m. and the meeting location will be at the Tower of Light in front of City Hall Plaza.

 Where do I park my bike at City Hall? At Luminary Green Park?
There will be designated bike parking areas at City Hall Plaza, and attendees can use bike racks already provided within the Luminary Green Park.

 Where should I park my car at the City Hall garage with a big bike rack?
Parking is available at the City Commons Garage at 460 Boone Avenue. Upon entering the garage you will take a parking ticket. Parking validation will be provided to event attendees at City Hall Plaza. Do not park on ramps with a bike rack and please select spaces away from the ramp so cars can safely pass.

Where do I check-in to get points for the Employee Fitness Challenge?
At the start of the event, city employees can head to the sign-in stations at Luminary Green Park to receive points for the Employee Fitness Challenge.
