Orlando District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan and City of Orlando Firefighters to build bikes for 17th Annual Wheels for Kids
WHAT:
This Tuesday, December 18, 2018, Orlando District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan will join forces with City of Orlando firefighters to build nearly 90 bikes that will be donated to children, ages five to 15, who live in the Reeves Terrace neighborhood.
The Commissioner and firefighters will turn wrenches and tighten brackets during the bike build event to make sure bikes of all sizes and colors are ready for giving later this week on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Howard Middle School.
The event is part of the 17th annual Wheels for Kids program started by Commissioner Sheehan in 2002 when students in Reeves Terrace no longer had a bus system to take them to school.
To date, the program has given away more than 1100 bicycles thanks to generous supporters.
