Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and City Commissioners Join Residents and Local Businesses to Celebrate Sustainability During Earth Day Work Day at City Hall Plaza

WHAT:
Celebrate Earth Day with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orlando City Commissioners as they join residents, downtown workers and local businesses at City Hall Plaza to reaffirm the community’s commitment to becoming one of the most sustainable cities in the nation.

This lunchtime sustainability fair will feature games and giveaways with prizes including plants and reusable straws, music and vendor booths from First GREEN Bank, Fleet Farming, Recycle Across America and more, sharing tips on how to be green at work and at home. Visuals at the event will include wildlife demonstrations from the city’s Orlando Wetlands Park, electronic items being collected for proper recycling and attendees interacting with local vendors.

The city encourages guests to pick up a Green Works Champion card at the event and visit all six Green Works Orlando tables for an interactive sustainability activity to get a stamp. Once all stamps are collected, the card may be redeemed for a free Earth Day Work Day t-shirt or tote bag, while supplies last.
