Ring in the Holidays with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer at the City of Orlando’s 11th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration

WHAT:
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer invites Central Florida residents and visitors to ring in the holiday season at the City of Orlando’s 11th annual Tree Lighting Celebration.

The highlight of this free event is the lighting of the city’s 72-foot Christmas tree at Lake Eola Park’s Washington Plaza. Attendees will help countdown to the lighting of the tree’s 160,000 animated LED lights and the 15-minute Eola Wonderland Christmas tree show where the tree will come alive to a synchronized light-and-music show with the Lake Eola fountain.

Entertainment will include holiday performances at the Walt Disney Amphitheater from the Trinity Lutheran School Choir and the Orlando Concert Band. The event will also feature vendor booths, photos with Santa from 6-8 p.m. and The Daily City’s Food Truck Bazaar serving delicious food and drinks for purchase. 

GIVE:
The Salvation Army will have their red kettles at the event, with a brand new option to make a donation using your credit or debit card. They will also accept traditional cash donations. 

WHEN:
Friday, November 30, 2018 

5:30 p.m. – Trinity Lutheran School Choir
6:00 p.m. – Santa arrives to Washington Plaza
6:45 p.m. – Orlando Concert Band Pre-Show Music
7:00 p.m. – Holiday Celebration Stage Show
**7:45 p.m. – Mayor Dyer will be available for media on the south side of the band shell.**
8:00 p.m. – Tree Lighting

ATTENDEE PARKING AND TRAVEL INFORMATION:
Parking is available for a fee at all downtown Orlando parking garages, lots and Smart Meters.

The free LYMMO Circulator is recommended for Downtown residents and attendees parking at garages other than the Library Garage (112 East Central Boulevard).

MEDIA PARKING:
Media members can park in the bagged metered spaces on the west side of Rosalind Avenue.
