City Now Accepting Applications for the 2020 Mayor’s City Academy

WHAT:
The City of Orlando is currently accepting applications for the 2020 Mayor’s City Academy.
 
The Mayor’s City Academy is a free, 11-week civic engagement program that offers residents a look inside City government. Participants will tour facilities like the Amway Center, Water Conserve II and the Orlando Police Department Headquarters; they will meet the people that make the city run, from those who test out sanitary sewer lines to those who shape the policies that affect daily life; they will explore the many volunteer opportunities where they can make an impact on their city and discover the many resources and programs available to city residents. Dinner will be provided each night. 
 
WHO:
City of Orlando residents are encouraged to apply.
 
WHEN:
The deadline to submit an application is Friday, December 20, 2019. The 2020 Mayor’s City Academy begins on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 5:30 p.m.,  and will be held each Thursday evening through April 30.
