City of Orlando Officials Ask Public to “Get Over It”
Community Celebration Highlights Official Opening of the Colonial Drive Overpass
WHAT:
Join Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, City Commissioners, Florida Department of Transportation District 5 Secretary Mike Shannon, Bike/Walk Central Florida representatives and members of the local community to celebrate the official opening of the Colonial Drive Overpass.
Held high above one of Orlando’s busiest roadways, this iconic bridge spans approximately half a mile, taking pedestrians, bicyclists, walkers and more across Colonial Drive, safely connecting the north of downtown to the central urban core, LYNX Central Station and SunRail.
The free community celebration, dubbed “Get Over it,” will feature music, refreshments and give attendees the opportunity to “get over it” and explore the new overpass. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will also be part of the event.

MEDIA PARKING – Media should park in the surface parking lot located on the south side of Concord Street, east of the railroad tracks.
