JUNE 7 – Media Availability: City of Orlando Provides Transportation Briefing in Advance of Presidential Event on Tuesday, June 18th in Downtown Orlando

***Media Availability*** – Billy Hattaway, City of Orlando Transportation Department Director, will brief the media and be available for interview on this on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. 
 
WHAT: 
The City of Orlando is actively working on a detailed traffic management plan that includes specific road closures, recommended routes of travel in and out of downtown Orlando, parking garage information and more.
 
While the specifics of these details are still being finalized, the city expects significant traffic impacts to the downtown area on Tuesday, June 18th.   
In advance of this, City of Orlando Transportation Department Director Billy Hattaway will provide a briefing on how the city is preparing from a transportation standpoint, what people should expect this day and recommendations on how to plan ahead.

10 a.m. – Media Arrival – Media must arrive by 10 a.m. to set up. Please note, to access the Event Management Center, media will be required to go through security screening.

This briefing and interview availability will be in the Event Management Center at City Hall.  At the briefing, the city will also showcase how this center is utilized during special events – including visuals of the city’s traffic camera views and real time monitoring of roadway conditions.

This is a video/photo opportunity for media to do live shots from and to film aerial shots of downtown Orlando including visuals of the roadways that will be impacted by this event.
There will be no interview opportunities at this location.   
To cover this, media may park in the Geico Garage, located at 400 West South Street. Media should enter the Amway Center at the Administration entrance adjacent to the Orlando Magic Team Store off Hughey Avenue.
