SWANS AT LAKE EOLA:
Residents and visitors will not be the only ones enjoying the fireworks. Lake Eola is home to more than 50 swans of five different breeds. Park visitors are asked to refrain from feeding swans anything other than leafy greens or by purchasing swan feed from any of the feeders around the park. The swans’ digestive system is not designed to metabolize the refined flour, preservatives or sugar found in food items like bread or popcorn.

In addition to the funds collected from the feeders in the park, swan lovers can donate through Swan-A-Thon to make a financial gift that will support the health and well-being of the swans at Lake Eola.

Donations to Swan-A-Thon can be made online or in person at the following locations:

  • City of Orlando website – orlando.gov/swanathon
  • Discover Downtown information center – 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of Swan-A-Thon branded T-shirts and plush toys at Discover Downtown will go towards the fundraising program.
