Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer Works Along With Parking Staff to Install First Meterless Parking Signs and Launch Pilot Program

What:

The first phase of Creative Village and the new UCF Downtown and Valencia College Downtown will open in just a few weeks, bringing 8,000 students, faculty and staff to downtown Orlando.  In recognition of the needs of downtown visitors, residents and workers, the city is adding nearly 200 on-street meterless paid parking spaces in Creative Village.

The meterless spaces will allow users to pay for - and find their parking - all online through the free ParkMobile app. The meterless space program is a pilot project limited to the Creative Village area, but if successful over the one-year study phase, could be implemented throughout downtown Orlando.

On Monday, City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will highlight this new parking option and “work-along” with staff from the city’s Transportation and Parking Division to install new signage for the program.
