Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Commissioner Regina I. Hill Kick-Off Patient Care Assistant Training Program
New program to provide training for long-term careers in healthcare.

What:
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 5 City Commissioner Regina I. Hill will join students for the launch of a new Patient Care Assistant healthcare occupation training program. Part of a City of Orlando partnership with CareerSource Central Florida and Southern Technical Institute, this program is designed to provide short-term training to residents to prepare them for long-term careers in healthcare. This program also creates a pipeline of skilled professionals to support Orlando’s growing medical field.

The group of new students who will participate in this four week program will include four residents from the Parramore community who have been working with City of Orlando’s BLUEPRINT Program Office. The office was initially launched to ensure the construction of the MLS Soccer Stadium, Orlando Citrus Bowl, Amway Center and the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts, had a direct economic benefit on the local community. As those projects near their conclusion, BLUEPRINT continues to work to connect residents in underserved neighborhoods with career opportunities.
