City of Orlando Conducts Fiscal Year 2020/2021 Budget Process
WHAT:
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and the Orlando City Council will hold a workshop and two public hearings to determine the millage rate and budget for Fiscal Year 2020/2021.
The proposed FY 2020/2021 budget furthers Mayor Dyer's continued commitment to create a City where everyone is valued and furthers investments in affordable housing, providing access to jobs and education and strengthening youth programming.
At the budget workshop on Monday, July 20, the City will outline how Orlando is preparing to respond to future economic challenges as the COVID-19 pandemic continues while maintaining and delivering core city services that residents depend on.
Additionally, the workshop will address how the proposed budget will renew and expand on the City’s efforts to create racial equity by investing in programs and resources and refocus police funding to strengthen community policing efforts, enhancing review and training for use of force and expand access for mental health assistance for officers
Following the budget workshop, public hearings with opportunity for public input will take place in September, with the final hearing and vote to adopt the proposed budget scheduled for September 21, 2020.

Mayor Dyer will open the workshop with a brief address and the City’s Chief Financial Officer Chris McCullion will deliver the Fiscal Year 2020/2021 Budget Workshop presentation to the Orlando City Council.
