City of Orlando Holds First Virtual City Council Meeting

March 27, 2020 – Orlando, Fl – The City of Orlando continues to take necessary precautions to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), while maintaining business to keep city projects, programs and services moving ahead. In keeping with this goal, the Orlando City Council will hold its regular meeting by teleconference on Monday, March 30, at 2 p.m.
The teleconference meeting format allows for social distancing among council members, staff and the public in accordance with policies from federal, state and county health officials.
Members of the public and the media will be asked to watch the meeting online or on TV, as City Hall remains closed to the public at this time. Meetings are available for viewing on Orange TV channel 488, at orlando.gov/watchonline or the city’s YouTube page (youtube.com/cityoforlando).
Alternative methods have been established to receive public comment during these virtual City Council meetings. Written public comments can be emailed, mailed or dropped off. Additionally, those wishing to provide comment in person must come to the City Hall Rotunda to be connected to the virtual meeting.
How to submit public comment or speak at City Council
Written public comments can be emailed to cityclerk@orlando.gov; mailed to City Clerk, Public Comment, 400 South Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801; or dropped off to the 1st floor security station at City Hall.
Comments received by 2 p.m. on Monday, March 30 will be read into the record during the City Council meeting and become part of the permanent record of the meeting. Requests to give public comment, which includes presentations, must be submitted to the Office of the City Clerk by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 27 via email to cityclerk@orlando.gov. If a presentation cannot be provided in advance, the City cannot guarantee it will be shown as a part of the council meeting.
The City of Orlando asks residents to be patient, as we utilize new technologies to provide essential business operations during this time. The city will continually work to ensure residents and business have access to public meetings.
