City of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board, Uber Eats Announce “Order Up Downtown” Campaign to Support Downtown Orlando Restaurants
(Orlando, Fla.) –The City of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board and Uber Eats today announced a collaborative effort to support Downtown Orlando restaurants by increasing demand and encouraging food delivery. The innovative campaign, “Order Up Downtown,” is the first of its kind in the U.S. and will provide incentives to encourage Orlando residents to order from their favorite downtown restaurants through Uber Eats.
Though this campaign, Uber Eats and the City of Orlando are working together on a support package that includes a waiving of delivery fees on all Uber Eats orders from independent restaurants across Downtown Orlando and a dedicated marketing campaign—both in-app and via email—to promote delivery from local restaurants.
“Our city remains committed to doing whatever we can to support our local businesses during these uncertain times,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “This partnership is another way we can help businesses re-open and recover and bring downtown Orlando’s unique dining options, safely and conveniently, to even more throughout our community.”
“Uber Eats is proud to partner with the City of Orlando to help drive increased demand to independent restaurants across Downtown Orlando with joint marketing efforts and waiving delivery fees for Orlando residents.” —Janelle Sallenave, Head of Uber Eats, US & Canada
Through the “Order Up Downtown” campaign, first-time Uber Eats users will receive $10 off on their first order.
To further support local restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic, and as local economies begin to slowly re-open, Uber Eats will continue waiving activation fees to new restaurants joining the delivery platform. Uber Eats will also extend the “Eats Pass,” which includes unlimited free deliveries and a 5% discount on all campaigns to users for an additional month.
The campaign launches Monday, May 25, 2020 and will run thru June 30, 2020.
