City of Orlando Hosts Informational Sessions on Rental Assistance Program
City Urges Eligible Households to Apply Now Before Eviction Moratorium Expires

In an effort to connect residents to resources that may help them recover from financial impacts of COVID-19 – and in advance of the moratorium on evictions expected to expire at the end of July – the City of Orlando is hosting several educational sessions about the Rental Assistance Program, which can help City of Orlando households impacted by COVID-19 get current on up to 12 months of unpaid rent.

Households with incomes below 80% of the area median income ($61,050 for a family of four) are eligible with priority given to households with incomes less than 50% of the area median income ($38,150 for a family of four) and to households with one or more members that have been unemployed for at least 90 days. For more information, a list of all program guidelines and eligibility requirements and to begin an application, residents can visit Orlando.gov/assistance.

In partnership with its partners KPMG and Indelible, the city is offering a number of opportunities for residents to learn more about the Rental Assistance Program, including:

Virtual Lunch and Learn Session
During the one-hour session, residents will learn how to effectively apply for the program and participate in a Q&A session.

Thursday, July 15, 2021

Hosted via Zoom
Residents can register here

In-Person Informational Sessions
Each session will include a brief overview of the program and an opportunity for residents to ask one-on-one questions about program guidelines, eligibility requirements and have access to tablets and scanners to complete the application and upload any necessary supporting documentation.

If a resident would like to complete the application on-site using the tablets and scanners available, they should gather and bring everything needed to complete an application. A full list of documentation needed can be found here.

Residents can register for one of the information sessions at Orlando.gov/assistance under “upcoming events.”
