The City of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board Kicks off 50th Anniversary with a Reveal of the Newest Art Sculpture in Downtown Orlando 

WHAT: 
On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, the City of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board (DDB) will kick off their 50th anniversary along with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and City Commissioners with the reveal of a new, larger-than-life permanent art sculpture in the downtown.   

In addition to revealing the sculpture at the event, the DDB will share information about future events to commemorate this golden anniversary and Discover Downtown will be selling a commemorative, limited edition map.   

Created by a Special Act of the Florida Legislature in 1971, the DDB serves to strengthen the role of downtown Orlando as the economic, governmental, and cultural center of Central Florida. This year, the DDB is celebrating 50 years of creating exciting experiences and new developments that keep people coming back to discover downtown Orlando.
