City of Orlando Kicks off Fiscal Year 2022/2023 Budget Process at City Council Work Session
Workshop will also Highlight City’s Proposal to Leverage Federal Funding to “Accelerate Orlando” to Further Address Homelessness and Affordable Housing
WHAT:
The City of Orlando will begin its FY 22/23 budget process with a work session on Monday, July 18th. As part of the workshop Monday, Mayor Dyer will outline how the city has created a balanced budget that does not raise the tax rate and continues to focus on maintaining and delivering core city services that residents depend on. It will also highlight continued investments to support at-risk youth, enhance Community Response Teams within OPD and further affordable housing efforts.
Also at the workshop on Monday, the City will outline how two decades of fiscal responsibility and $58 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding have created an unprecedented chance to “Accelerate Orlando” and tackle two of the community’s most daunting challenges; homelessness and affordable housing.
Following the budget workshop, public hearings with the opportunity for public input will take place in September, with the final hearing and vote to adopt the proposed budget scheduled for September 26, 2022.
