City Commissioners Unveil the City of Orlando’s Civil Rights Wall of Fame at City Hall
WHAT:
On Friday, June 17, 2022, City Commissioners and employees celebrate the 50th year of operation for the city’s Office of Human Relations and officially unveil the City of Orlando’s Civil Rights Wall of Fame.
The Wall of Fame honors those who have made significant contributions and provided exemplary leadership resulting in progress and achievements in civil rights to benefit the citizens of Orange, Osceola and/or Seminole counties. Each year an awardee is chosen, and their photo and story will be displayed on the Wall of Fame.
For the last five decades, the Office of Human Relations has remained committed to upholding city and federal laws that prohibit discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations. This office reaffirms the city’s continued commitment to ensuring that each person is equally valued, equally protected, and has equitable access to opportunities.
