WHAT:
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 5 City Commissioner Regina I. Hill will officially unveil the honored Luminaires at the city’s newest park, Luminary Green Park. Luminary Green Park shines a light on the legacy of public service by showcasing memorial sculptures of those who dedicated their lives to the prosperity of the Parramore Community.
At the event, the 12 steel installations that posthumously honor community members as Luminaries will be illuminated, along with the park’s pathways, to honor the inaugural class of Luminaries. Hundreds of family members and friends of each honored Luminary will stand alongside their memorial and take part in the momentous unveiling and lighting ceremony.
A selection panel of Parramore community leaders and advocates named the inaugural luminaries in March 2022. The Luminary honorees include:
- City Commissioner Napoleon “Nap” Ford
