District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz and Orlando Community to Cheer on Local Youth Athlete as He Decides on Athletic Scholarship Dream College

WHAT:
District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz will be ready to cheer on Boone High School football player, Aiden Mizell, as he announces his choice of college placement. As a wide receiver, Mizell has been offered dozens of football scholarships from colleges across the nation. Earlier this month, he narrowed his top three colleges to the University of Tennessee, the University of Alabama and the University of Florida.

Mizell enters his senior year on the heels of last season’s 18 touchdowns and 47 catches. Mizell is more than a star football player, he’s also a track star, holding the school record in the 400-meter dash.

Mizell has been attending the Dover Shores Neighborhood Center since he was five years old and his siblings have followed in his footsteps. "The Dover Shores community center has supported me from the beginning which is why I wanted to make my announcement here,” said Mizell. “They provide a place for kids after school and in the summer that I definitely benefited from.”

Dover Shores Neighborhood Center staff will join family and friends to support Mizell as he announces this monumental choice. Mizell received offers from more than a dozen colleges to continue his football career and further his education.
