Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer Paves the Way on Downtown Loop Multi-Use Path

WHAT: Tuesday morning, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will work-along with city contractors to close a 1.6-mile “gap” along East Anderson Street from Summerlin Avenue to Lake Underhill Road. The completion of this piece, dubbed the Downtown Connector Path, will help pave the way to the full completion of the 8.5-mile Downtown Loop project.

Donning work boots and safety gear, Mayor Dyer will help pour and smooth 60 liner feet of concrete for the path – ensuring a safe surface for future travelers.

The project is an important connection that will provide residents with a convenient alternative transportation option that ties into a network of paths that loop through more than a dozen neighborhoods and the Orlando Urban Trail, Gertrude’s Walk, Lake Underhill Path, Bumby Path and Cady Way Trail.

The Downtown Connector gap project is expected to be complete in early 2023. The entire Downtown Loop project is expected to be complete by Summer 2025.

WHEN: Tuesday, November 1, 2022 11:15 a.m.

WHERE: East Anderson Street and Sunglow Drive, near the Milk District Main Street. On-street parking is available along Sunglow Drive.

INTERIVEW OPPORTUNITIES: Mayor Dyer will be available for interviews throughout the work along and following to talk about this important transportation project for the City of Orlando.
