Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 6 City Commissioner Bakari F. Burns Celebrate New Quality of Life Amenities at Prince Hall Park

The Neighborhood Park’s Transformation Features Equitable Access Amenities for all Ages and Abilities

WHAT:
On Friday, June 16, 2023, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 6 CityCommissioner Bakari F. Burns will join residents and children of the Richmond Estates neighborhood to celebrate the brand-new enhancements at Prince Hall Park, including two new playgrounds with slides, swings, climbing bars and sensory spaces for kids to enjoy. The 1.75-acre park now also features a bike rack and repair station, outdoor fitness stations, two picnic shelters with canopies, new benches and multiple shade structures.

As part of the beautification, the park includes new ADA amenities for those with mobility limitations creating equitable access to resources and services for the entire Orlando community. The park is also home to the city’s “Tables of Connection” which provides residents with free internet access through a Wi-Fi hotspot and charging stations at high-tech picnic tables, a project made possible thanks to the city’s Livable Orlando Age-Friendly Action Plan.

The newly upgraded park furthers the city’s continued commitment to invest in parks and neighborhood gathering spaces to ensure residents of all ages, abilities and backgrounds have equitable access to amenities in Orlando and to enhance the lives of city residents.
