 City of Orlando Kicks Off Fiscal Year 2023/2024 Budget Process

 

WHAT: The City of Orlando will begin its FY 23/24 budget process with a work session on Monday, July 17, 2023. Under Mayor Dyer’s leadership, the city will present a proposed balanced budget that does not raise the tax rate and continues to focus on maintaining and delivering core municipal services that residents depend on. It will also highlight Orlando’s continued commitment to provide an exceptional quality of life, further ensure a safe community, offer opportunity for all and invest in solutions to challenges, like affordable housing and homelessness.  

Following the budget workshop, public hearings with the opportunity for public input will take place in September, with the final hearing and vote to adopt the proposed budget scheduled for September 25, 2023. Mayor Dyer and the Orlando City Council will participate in the Fiscal Year 2023/2024 annual budget workshop presented by Michelle McCrimmon, City of Orlando Deputy Chief Financial Officer. 

Monday, September 11, 2023  5:01 p.m. - Budget Hearing #1  City Council Chambers, City Hall, 2nd Floor 

First public Budget Hearing to adopt proposed millage rate for Fiscal Year 2023/2024 and establish a tentative budget and Capital Improvement Program. 

Monday, September 25, 2023  5:01 p.m. – Budget Hearing #2  City Council Chambers, City Hall, 2nd Floor 

Final public Budget Hearing to adopt the millage rate for Fiscal Year 2023/2024 and set the budget and Capital Improvement Program. 

Sunday, October 1, 2023  Implementation of fiscal year 2023/2024 adopted budget.
