City of Orlando Office of Human Relations Hosts Black History Month Fair Housing Education and Outreach Fair

WHAT: On Saturday, February 25, the City of Orlando Office of Human Relations invites the community to attend the Fair Housing Education and Outreach Fair. The fair is an opportunity for residents to learn more about the City of Orlando’s Chapter 57 Ordinance and its discrimination protections under the Fair Housing Act and dispel any false information that home seekers may encounter during their home-buying process.

The free, family-friendly event will also feature local community organization fair booths, games, prizes, music, food, and Fair Housing training sessions courtesy of Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida, Inc. While registration is not required for the fair, community members looking to participate in training sessions are strongly encouraged to preregister at orlando.gov/Events/Fair-Housing-Fair, as seating is limited.

This year’s event is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and its theme, “Fair Housing is Black History,” celebrates the lasting contributions that Black Americans have made throughout history in the United States. This event is another way the City of Orlando furthers its commitment to ensuring that all residents are treated equally, are equally protected and have equitable access to opportunities that help them thrive and make Orlando an inclusive, welcoming city for all.

WHEN: Saturday, February 25, 2023 12 - 4 p.m.

WHERE: Primrose Plaza 595 Primrose Drive

PARKING: Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Primrose Plaza.

MEDIA INFO & RSVP: Media planning to attend the event should RSVP by Friday, February 24, at 3 p.m. with Luis M. Martinez by calling 407.383.2073 or emailing him at luis.martinez@orlando.gov.
