WHAT:
On Saturday, August 5, 2023, District 5 City Commissioner Regina I. Hill will host her annual back-to-school celebration at Lake Lorna Doone Park. At the event, more than 1,250 backpacks packed with school supplies will be donated to local students, ages five to 18, as well as clothing, sneakers and non-perishable food items from partner organizations.
Community organizations will also be at the event to help educate residents on access to other resources and programs including career recruitment, health and wellness tips and mental health services. The celebration will also feature family friendly activities, such as lawn games, bounce houses, entertainment and more.
