Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer Joins Camping World Stadium Staff for Work-Along Prepping Field for Camping World Kick off Between Florida State and LSU

Matchup Draws More Than 60,000 Fans to Downtown Orlando

WHAT:
On Friday, September 1, 2023, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will work-along with Camping World Stadium staff to prepare for the Camping World Kickoff between two of college football’s powerhouse programs, #5 Louisiana State Tigers and the #8 Florida State Seminoles on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Mayor Dyer will assist with turf preparations, including painting logos, endzone backdrops and sidelines.

The Camping World Kickoff, a neutral-site college football game drawing a capacity crowd of more than 60,000 fans, opens the 2023 season for both schools and will be televised nationally by ESPN, showcasing Central Florida and Orlando. This high-profile matchup is expected to have a local economic impact in excess of $30 million and generate 45,000 hotel room nights over Labor Day weekend.
