Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 1 City Commissioner Jim Gray Celebrate Narcoossee Road Expansion

Infrastructure Enhancements will Further Advance Quality of Life in the Growing Southeast Sector of the City

WHAT:
On Friday, July 28, 2023, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 1 City Commissioner Jim Gray will celebrate the completion of the eight-mile Narcoossee Road expansion project with a ribbon cutting ceremony. This transportation project is critical toensure this area of the city has reliable and efficient infrastructure to serve neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and the medical city and included:

  • Widening Narcoossee Road from four to six lanes between the Beachline Expressway (State Road 528) and Central Florida Greenway (State Road 417)
  • Upgrades to 11 traffic signals at all signalized intersections
  • Enhanced underground drainage systems

The project also added a new 13-foot-wide multimodal trail running along the west side of Narcoossee Road from Lake Nona Boulevard to Lake Nona Club Drive that features native landscaping, new benches and a bike repair station.

The roadway expansion furthers the city’s goals to create a connected community with a 21st-century transportation ecosystem that offers residents and visitors safe, innovative and efficient mobility options.
