Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 3 City Commissioner Robert F. Stuart Break Ground on Accessible Renovations at Lake Fairview Park

20-acre park will create a more accessible and enjoyable outdoor experience for residents of all ages and abilities

WHAT:  
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 3 City Commissioner Robert F. Stuart will join the community to break ground on upcoming renovations at Lake Fairview Park. The 20-acre park's new design will create a more accessible and enjoyable outdoor experience for residents of all ages and abilities. 

The new project features an enhanced shoreline with an accessible boardwalk featuring an observation deck for fishing, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Fairview.  

Phase I of the project includes: 

  • An ADA-accessible playground equipped with inclusive play structures and appropriate surfacing, 
  • One large and one small ADA-compliant picnic pavilion, each featuring six picnic tables, 
  • ADA-compliant restrooms near the shoreline,  
  • A “Net-Zero” building with rooftop solar panels, 
  • Two new sand volleyball courts and 
  • An improved public boat ramp 

The renovations are expected to be completed by early summer 2025, with a public opening of the new facilities planned for later that summer.
