Orlando, FL – December 20, 2024 – The City of Orlando, in partnership with OUC—The Reliable One is launching the Summerlin Avenue Improvement Project to upgrade critical infrastructure between South Street and Marks Street with construction breaking ground in January 2025. This project will modernize OUC's potable water system and the City of Orlando's sanitary sewer and stormwater systems to enhance service reliability, streamline safety systems and improve quality of life for residents through infrastructure upgrades.
Beginning Monday, January 13, 2025, contractor Gibbs and Register will begin construction to replace nearly 80-year-old aging infrastructure. The project includes the installation of approximately 1.25 miles of new water mains, the addition of fire hydrants and the update of critical valves to improve fire safety and system dependability.
