City and United Arts of Central Florida Launch New Arts Initiative

City of Orlando’s Downtown Development Board partners with United Arts of Central Florida to enhance downtown Orlando’s arts and cultural offerings

WHAT:
On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will join elected officials and community partners to celebrate the launch of United Arts of Central Florida's new arts initiative in downtown Orlando. This initiative aims to elevate the city’s cultural landscape by providing exceptional arts experiences seven days a week and add to the city’s arts and cultural offerings by showcasing its community’s creativity. During the event, attendees will enjoy a live performance and the unveiling of a new art structure near Visit Orlando and the Orlando Economic Partnership’s “Unbelievably Real” mural on South Orange Avenue and Pine Street.

Through a collaborative effort between the Downtown Development Board (DDB) and United Arts of Central Florida (UA), alongside Creative City Project and the Downtown Arts District, downtown Orlando is set to become a hub of creativity and cultural vitality. This initiative, part of the ongoing Project DTO, aims to make high-quality arts experiences accessible to residents and visitors alike, enriching the community's cultural fabric day and night, weekdays and weekends.
