WHAT:
The City of Orlando’s Historic Preservation Board invites photographers to participate in the 2025 Historic Preservation Board Calendar and photography competition. This year, the Historic Preservation Board is seeking photographs that capture Orlando’s College Park Neighborhood.
To continue to support historic preservation efforts, the city has produced the popular Historic Preservation Board Calendar since 1991 as a depiction of Orlando’s treasured historic resources and is currently seeking photographs for the 2025 calendar.
CALENDAR CONTEST SPECIFICS:
In order for photos to qualify, subject matter should be from structures that are at least 50 years old and be located in Historic College Park. In April of 1923, the Chamber of Commerce petitioned the City Commission to expand the city’s northern boundary to Par Street thereby encompassing the developing area known as College Park into the city limits. College Park is known for its architectural character found in the historical styles of Colonial Revival, Craftsman, Mediterranean Revival, Minimal Traditional, Mission, Neoclassical Revival and Tudor Revival.
Submission subjects can be of individual details or an entire structure. Exterior or interior images of the subject will be accepted. It is highly encouraged that submissions be from areas of College Park that are not included in the Lake Adair/Lake Concord or Lake Ivanhoe National Register Districts.
