City of Orlando Invites Community to Pulse Memorial Advisory Committee Meetings

WHAT:
The Pulse Memorial Advisory Committee will meet this week for two-consecutive days to continue its discussion toward a recommendation of a conceptual design for a memorial to honor the 49 lives taken during the Pulse tragedy.

The Pulse Memorial Advisory Committee consist of members representing victims’ families, survivors and other stakeholders and was created to further guide the effort to create a permanent memorial at the Pulse site, develop opportunities for input and engagement, in English and Spanish, with the goal of recommending a conceptual design for the memorial by the end of this year.

Monthly meetings of the committee will continue through the end of the year. In addition to the committee’s work, families, survivors, and the broader community will continue to have opportunities to provide input into the design of the permanent memorial. This will include in-person community meetings along with a virtual space online for feedback.

Thursday, November 21, 2024, 4 - 8 p.m.
**Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. for media set-up**
Orlando City Hall, Fairview Room 9th floor, 400 South Orange Avenue

VIRTUAL VIEWING:
Members of the public can attend the committee meetings virtually or in-person, in English and Spanish. Those wishing to join the committee meetings virtually may connect to the meeting at pulseorlando.org/meetinginformation.

MEDIA PARKING:
Parking is available in the reserved metered spaces along South Orange Avenue and in the City Commons Parking Garage, orlando.gov/mediaparking.

Media should enter through the security check-in on the first floor of City Hall.
