Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer Announces New Senior Staff Appointment

November 5, 2024 - Orlando, FL - Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has announced the appointment of FJ Flynn as Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Orlando. Flynn, who currently serves as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, will move into his new role after current Chief Administrative Officer Kevin Edmonds retires in January after 35 years with the City of Orlando.

The Chief Administrative Officer guides the City of Orlando’s operating departments in delivering services in a consistent, efficient and responsible manner.

Flynn has 25 years of experience at City Hall, including five years as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer. During his tenure, he has also served as the Division Manager of the Transportation Planning Division, Deputy Director of Economic Development and Deputy Director of the Transportation Department.

“With a strong understanding of operations of our city departments, FJ is well equipped to serve as Chief Administrative Officer,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “I have no doubt that under FJ’s leadership, the City of Orlando will continue to provide our community with the critical municipal services, programs and amenities that residents, businesses and visitors rely on.”

Flynn’s appointment will be effective January 7, 2025, pending City Council approval.
