February 1, 2024 -EffectiveFriday, February 2, 2024 at 12 p.m.Rosalind Avenue between Central Boulevard and Robinson Street will fully close in preparation for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon and remain closed until10 a.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024.
It was not initially anticipated that this section of roadway would be fully closed until 5 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, and that it would reopen at 4 p.m. later that day, but event needs require a full closure sooner and longer than anticipated.

TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY: U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon
January 29, 2024 – ORLANDO, FL - Over the last several months, the City of Orlando and event partners have been gearing up to host the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in downtown Orlando on February 3, 2024. Part of this effort has included providing information related to the event that may impact traffic patterns, pedestrian movement, detours and parking for both those attending and not attending.
In advance of Saturday’s race, the city wants to remind the community of those potential transportation impacts and how to contact the city before, during or after the race with any questions or concerns.
ROAD CLOSURES:
For the 2.2-mile race loop, roadways will be fully closed from5 a.m. until 12 p.m.on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
For the 8-mile race loop, roadways will be fully closed from5 a.m. until 4 p.m.on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
Additionally, the city has divided up the course map into 10 specific zones and three different levels relative to the location of residences or businesses along the impacted roadways. Zones refer specifically to the location along the route and levels indicate the resident or business’ vehicular access to that address. Levels are as follows:

Level 1 Designation: The business or residence is along the marathon route and road closures will restrict all vehicular access to the location during designated event hours.

Level 2 Designation: The business or residence is along the marathon route and at least one of the vehicular access points to the location will be affected by road closures. However, vehicles will be able to access the business or residence through an access point not along the route.

Level 3 Designation: There may be delays and detours impacting vehicular access to the location, however, vehicular, and pedestrian access to the location during the event will be maintained.
All impacted locations in these zones, regardless of level, have received several personalized direct mailings about these potential impacts.
408 EXIT AND ENTRANCE CLOSURES:
SR 408 will remain open throughout the event, but all downtown exits and entrances from Lake Underhill Road to Orange Avenue in both directions will be closed from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
The following SR 408 eastbound exits and entrances will be closed:
- Exit 10 B Orange Avenue Downtown
- Exit 11B Mills Avenue
- Exit 12 A Bumby Avenue
- Entrances on Anderson Street between South Street and Lake Underhill Road
To detour, use Exit 10A, I-4 West to Michigan Avenue or Exit 13, South Conway Road.
The following SR 408 westbound exits and entrances will be closed:
- Exit 12B Crystal Lake Drive
- Exit 11B Mills Avenue
- Exit 11A Rosalind Avenue
- Entrance on South Street at Bumby Avenue
To detour use Exit 10B, I-4 East.
PEDESTRIAN ACCESS:
All pedestrian crossings along the race course will be open until 9 a.m. Beginning at 9 a.m., all pedestrian traffic will be limited to the dedicated pedestrian crossings listed below:
- South Street and Orange Avenue
- South Street and Rosalind Avenue
- Summerlin Avenue and Anderson Street
- Summerlin Avenue and South Street
- Mills Avenue and Anderson Street
- Mills Avenue and South Street
- Bumby Avenue and Anderson Street
- Bumby Avenue and South Street
- Bumby Avenue and Livingston Street
- Bumby Avenue and Robinson Avenue
- Robinson Street from Orange Avenue to Rosalind Avenue will reopen for pedestrian traffic at 10:30 a.m.
After the race, pedestrian crossings are expected to reopen at approximately 2 p.m. once runners have cleared the area (unless otherwise noted above). Vehicular access will continue to be limited until the road closures have been lifted. Please note, scooters and bicycles are also not permitted.
PARKING ALTERNATIVES:
Because vehicular access to residences or businesses may be impacted due to event road closures, it may be necessary for some to relocate their vehicle outside of the road closures if they should need vehicular access during event hours.
CONTACT:
The city and its event partners have also established a website, and a dedicated email and hotline so that residents and businesses can access impacts specific to their location and contact the event producers and city directly with any questions as it relates to transportation plans for the event. This access is available now and leading up to the event.
On the day of the event, the community can call the city’s Emergency Information Center at 407-246-4357 (HELP) from 5a.m. to 1 p.m. with questions or concerns regarding the race.
