Existing Regulations: The expansion of the Mobile Food Vending Pilot Program in April 2019 removed the requirement for a Planning Application, and permitted a single Mobile Food Vendor on improved, non-vacant properties that allows Eating & Drinking establishments up to two times per week, limited to operating between 6 a.m. and midnight.
Proposed Recommendation: The goal is to codify the regulations set forth in the Mobile Food Vending Pilot Program and the Zoning Official Interpretation of Mobile Businesses to house all regulations in Chapter 58 of the Land Development Code, provide definitions for various aspects of Mobile Businesses, and increase vending opportunities for local, small businesses.
This amendment was recommended for approval by the Municipal Planning Board (MPB) on June 20, 2023. Due to updates to the proposed language, it will go before the MPB again, tentatively scheduled for July 16, 2024.
