Public Works Department

The Public Works Department proactively identifies innovative solutions for creating a sustainable city for future generations through the planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of public infrastructure.

Solid Waste Division

The Solid Waste Division offers residential and commercial garbage, recycling and yard waste services.

Engineering Division

The Engineering Division is responsible for managing the Engineering Administration, the Solid Waste Division, the Streets and Stormwater Division and the Engineering Survey Services Section.

Streets and Stormwater Division

The Streets and Stormwater Division maintains and operates over 800 miles of roadways and right-of-ways and ensures efficient and safe transit on all city streets and pedestrian ways.

Water Reclamation Division

The Water Reclamation Division provides wastewater collection and treatment to the citizens of Orlando and Central Florida. Our division meets and exceeds state and federal standards for the processing and reclamation of sanitary sewer water.

Engineering Records

Engineering Records maintains engineering documents including as-built drawings, surveys, plats, right-of-way information, annexations and addressing throughout the City.

Survey Services

The Survey Services Section provides surveying and guidance for all City departments involving surveying and mapping. In addition, the survey section provides surveys, producing every type of survey defined in Florida Statutes and Administrative Code.
