Loudspeaker/Amplified Sound

Permit for outdoor loudspeaker used on both private and public property within city limits.

Free Speech

For events that are free and open to the public with no physical setup, the city provides an expedited process for your rally approval.

Aeronautical

A permit is required for helicopters that will be in one location in city limits for any length of time.

  • Proof of insurance

  • FAA approval documents

Fireworks

Both the Office of Special Events and Fire Department require a permit, respectively, for firework displays within the city limits.

  • Proof of insurance

  • Copy of federal explosives license or permit

  • Pyrotechnic specifications

  • Site plan

Tent

This permit is required for any tents submitted by a tent company contractor. Tents less than 120 square feet, not submitted by a tent company, are exempt.  

Application submission timeline  At least 30 business days prior to setup date 
Requirements
  • Permits are issued to bonded tent companies registered as a contractor with the City of Orlando

  • Written consent of property owner

  • Site plan showing proposed tent locations

Stage

A permit is required for a temporary stage, except for:  

  • stages with a finished floor of 12 inches (1ft) or less  

  • the stage(s) is on a wheeled trailer that is regulated by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Temporary Fencing

A permit is required on city property for fences that are taller than six feet.

Drones

Requirements
The City does not require a drone permit, however, please follow Part 107 guidelines.
  • Permission from Park Manager

  • FAA license

  • Register flight with local tower

  • Stay below 400 ft.

  • Drone must stay within sight

  • Flying over people is prohibited
