Apply to be Recognized as an LGBTQ+ Owned Business at the City

Are you an LGBTQ+ owned business that is interested in doing business with the city?

The City of Orlando recognizes National LGBT Chamber of Commerce-certified businesses to provide them with:

  • Updates about business opportunities with the city.
  • Educational resources on how to do business with the city, including contracting and procurement processes.

Step 1.Meet the requirements for certification

To become certified by the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, your business must:

  • Be majority-owned (at least 51%), operated, managed and controlled by an LGBTQ+ person or persons.
  • Exercise independence from any non-LGBTQ+ business enterprise.
  • Have its principal place of business (headquarters) in the United States.
  • Be a legal entity in the United States.

Step 2.Certify your business as an LGBT Business Enterprise

Step 3.We will recognize your business as LGBTQ+ Certified

Quarterly, the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce will share all certified businesses with the City of Orlando. We will then recognize and register your business as LGBTQ+ certified in our database.

Step 4.We will offer your business educational resources on how to do business with the city

Various educational resources on how to do business with the city will be offered to your business including:

  • How to put together a bid for a contract to do business with the city.
  • Workshops and training, in conjunction with The Pride Chamber (Orlando's local chapter of the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce).

Step 5.We will inform you about new business opportunities with the city

When available, we will notify you about upcoming or new procurement opportunities to do business with the city.
