Introducing an improved application process

The Special Events Office is excited to announce that our new special event permitting platform, Eproval, is officially live! All applications for special events permits (also called 18A permits in city code), free speech permits, block party permits, loudspeaker permits and fireworks permits must be submitted using this system. You'll notice:

Step 1.Gather your information

You will need to upload:

Proof of insurance (including ID number and expiration date)
A copy of your federal explosives license or permit
Pyrotechnic specifications
A site plan

Step 2.Complete an application

You must create or log into your Eproval account to complete an application. If multiple people need to stay informed throughout the application process, use an email address that they all have access to.

Fill Out the Form

Step 3.We'll review your request

We will review your application and contact you if we need additional information.

Step 4.Make a payment

When prompted, you can pay the permit processing fees.

Step 5.Receive your permit

When your permit is approved, we will email it to you.
