Glider by Andrew Jarvis
He harnesses horizon to launch
his whirlwind craft, wooden and ready
in windswept enchantment higher
than cumulus clouds gifting awesome
wings to airborne boy, unbound
by orderly ground, disordered
while he measures airstream to guide
his soaring glide afloat, carried
by his imagination’s creation
in flight of his avian body, gliding.
About the Author
Andrew Jarvis is the author of Landslide, Blood Moon, and Sojourners. His poems have appeared in Cottonwood, Measure, Valparaiso Poetry Review and others. He holds high honors from the Nautilus, Foreword Indies and NextGen Indie Book Awards. His poetry titles are available wherever books are sold. Andrew holds an M.A. in Writing from Johns Hopkins University and lives in Orlando where alligators invade his backyard.
