Fourth Place - Living The City by Fred Briggs
Transfixed while all around me swirled The buildings
looked down in disdain as i stood gaping on that first day
Now an old friend the city hums a beguiling tune
and dances with people and life My heart sings along
So much happening A metropolis of choices
From work to pub to art the city invites It speaks my name
calling from nooks and corners that only dwellers know
and places friends both new and old are found
It grows and breathes but it’s still my size Alive by day
Aglow at night Enchanting is this three dimensional realm
Soul soothing as a sunset seen from the thirty second floor
Magical moment Magical life
