Friday Nights: the time of total bliss and savoring

My sisters and I grab the pots and pans as we feel the hunger lurking in our bellies

Grandma’s cookbook appears to us as the rays of sunset radiate into our kitchen 

Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle as the oils and food on the stove combine into a harmonious pair

Clink, clink, clink as we all cheers and sip our wines till it forms sensations along our bodies

Ding, ding, ding as the stove yells out “Done” and we all rush to find the masterpiece 

The meal glows out as we collect slices with stomachs in pure bliss, and our stuffed mouths only having room to call out “Yum!”

As the food starts to clear, I hope that these meals never grow old and these nights in the kitchen will never disappear
