Second Place: Band Camp in Florida by Paul Lewis

paul-lewis

It was a moist and horribly humid day,

moistier than the moistiest day ever recorded.

The air was thick and steamy with muggy moisture –

moisture which dripped from every dank and damp

surface in the world in an endless stream…drip, drip, drip…

nay, an endlessly soggy scream of moistened drips!

Wiping their dampened foreheads with soggy cloths,

the sadly soaked girls remarked upon just how clammy,

sweaty, and sticky they were in this place – the most

moist place imaginable…the most horrible place of

moistened nightmares…band camp in the deep south.
