Fourth Place: Bandit by Andrew Jarvis
Heron, it is befriending dawn
in spring, with a great blue body
and wings, angled, to pierce winter,
where rays of sun defrost the forms
of fishers casting braided lines
into trove of bountiful bass,
before it strikes, stealing a feast
from the foolish, then flies away.
