Alana Ramnarine - Freedom High School

Alana is a passionate supporter of equity for all. She believes developing an understanding of the beliefs of differing groups and cultures reduces the probability of conflict. Volunteering in the community has helped her to create bonds with her peers and create a healthy environment. She volunteers in her neighborhood with the Teen Advisory and Service Committee to complete activities including the relabeling sewage drains on roads. She also has volunteered at Give Kids the World. Alana has completed and received certification in several computer software programs. Reading is her favorite activity in her free time.

Favorite MLK quote: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

Future Plans: Alana wants to study at an Ivy League school such as Yale, Columbia or Brown Universities and become a criminal law attorney.
