Faina Petit-Frere - Oak Ridge High School

Faina believes that self love is key in embracing the dark parts of yourself in order to have love to share with others. Her spirit can be seen in her volunteering and mentoring roles.

She began mentoring in her middle school years because she wanted to give back to her elementary school. She has started a drama program to create a love of arts for students in a low socioeconomic class. KICS (Keeping It Classy) allows Faina to teach IT to young girls. She has accumulated 96 community service hours.

Faina is dually enrolled at Orange Technical College and takes classes in the 3DE magnet program. She is in the top 2% of her graduating class and is actively involved in three honor societies. Her favorite MLK quote: “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

Future Goals: Faina’s wants to attend FAMU and become a security analyst.
